Is Leadership Development Philanthropy’s Missing Bet?
What could become possible if philanthropy invested much more deeply in collective leadership development?
Development aid is declining at the same time that significant new private wealth is being created, including through technology and AI. This creates a real opening to ask where philanthropic resources could make the greatest difference, and what might become possible if more of that investment went toward developing people and leadership.
Leadership development remains chronically underfunded, even though progress on many of the issues philanthropy cares about depends on people across systems being able to work together, build relationships, make decisions, and lead change over time.
The session will begin with a panel discussion, followed by a working conversation bringing together different perspectives on this question.
