The NUS-Lancet PRIME Commission Report Launch: “Transforming Pandemic Readiness for Equity”

The NUS-Lancet Pandemic Readiness through Institutions, Mobilising Communities, and Equity (PRIME) Commission is Co-Chaired by Rt. Hon. Helen Clark and Prof. Hel Legido-Quigley.

Pandemic readiness is about securing protection for everyone before, during and after a health crisis, by ensuring that communities, institutions and systems are as strong as possible.

PRIME calls for a shift from the conventional pandemic preparedness model, with its focus on technical readiness, toward a 360-degree approach that provides a practical blueprint for the equitable protection of all people and communities, helping to save more lives.

The event will:

1. Officially launch the PRIME Commission’s report “Transforming Pandemic Readiness for Equity.”

2. Promote a broader approach to pandemic readiness that goes beyond technical preparedness, with a focus on equity, whole-of-society action, and protecting communities.

2. Feature high-level roundtable discussions on how PRIME frames pandemic readiness and how PRIME’s recommendations can inform the High-Level Meeting as well as political, institutional, health-system, regional and global action.

4. Bring together senior global leaders, Ministers, representatives of the United Nations and international organisations, academics, civil society, philanthropic organisations, and selected media.
