Earth to Hollywood
Join The Impact Lounge on September 22 for a full day at the intersection of climate, sustainability, and community. Earth to Hollywood brings together leaders, storytellers, and changemakers to confront the environmental crises shaping our planet — from the plastics choking our oceans and communities to the leadership and persistence it takes to turn outrage into real organizing. Coffee, snacks, and networking will be available throughout the day, so there’s always a reason to linger between sessions.
The day also asks harder questions, with panels exploring how Indigenous, place-based wisdom has anticipated environmental change for generations, yet is too often dismissed as tradition rather than recognized as science — and how storytelling can build recognition for it without stripping away its cultural roots. Other sessions connect the dots between personal wellbeing and planetary health, using documentary storytelling and audience participation to explore burnout, food systems, and where each of us has agency to act.
The afternoon closes with Solutions Inside Out, the Climate Week NYC premiere of new short documentaries from the Solutions Storytelling Project — four stories from across South Asia, from a drone pilot defying expectations to a weaver preserving her craft by touch, each spotlighting solutions-focused change on the front lines. Grab popcorn for the preview on stage, then catch the full films playing all night next door at the Hard Bar. The day winds down with a closing cocktail hour designed to keep the connections — and the conversations — going.
