From Policy to Impact: Advancing Universal Health Coverage Through Action on Rare Diseases
This invitation-only event will provide an opportunity to strengthen the partnerships needed to translate global policy commitments into coordinated action by creating a space for advocates, policymakers, and other stakeholders to build relationships, share knowledge and perspectives, and identify potential areas of collaboration. Guided by the principle that health systems that deliver for people living with rare diseases deliver for everyone, participants will explore tangible ways to accelerate the implementation of global commitments and advance more resilient, inclusive, and equitable health systems.
The discussion will explore how rare diseases can be more effectively integrated into efforts to achieve Universal Health Coverage, and how governments, civil society organizations and international partners can translate existing global commitments into meaningful impact for people living with rare diseases and their families.
This event is hosted by Rare Diseases International (RDI), the global alliance of rare disease organizations, in partnership with Gillette Children’s and under the patronage of the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Kingdom of Spain. It will follow an informal format, opening with structured remarks, followed by dedicated time for an open exchange of perspectives and experience.
