Circular Economy Futures 2050: Shaping the action agenda

As we approach the end of this decade, we are heading for an important crossroads: do we pursue business as usual, or do we seize the moment to radically re-think and repurpose our societies, our way of living, and our economies? The choices we make will shape the future for generations to come.

Co-hosted by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, the Chatham House, WYSS Academy for Nature and the Hanns Seidel Foundation, this event is designed for visionaries and change-makers who are ready to lead the charge toward a sustainable and regenerative future, and fosters global dialogue and collaboration among leaders, policymakers, scientists, and civil society to advance the circular economy globally.

Pivotal global events, such as the UN Summit of the Future, COP 30, and UNEA 7 will offer welcome opportunities to refine our thinking and approach to circularity as a key vector for accelerating this transformative journey. These milestones offer a platform for innovative ideas, bold strategies, and collaborative action. This event will look into the future of circularity to identify the quickest and most pragmatic pathways to implement circular strategies and business models.

The opening will provide an analysis of global resource management and the need for coordinated circular economy policies. The event will explore the “Circular Economy Futures 2050” policy paper to create a unified vision and actionable pathways for international cooperation in policy, trade, and finance. A follow-up panel will discuss the roles of finance and trade in enabling circularity. The final plenary will present the results of the impact analysis of the Global Circularity Protocol’s transformative impact on climate, nature, and social equity objectives.

Note: this event is by invitation only, by submitting this form you register your interest to participate. Your attendance is confirmed only when you receive the confirmation email. For more information reach out to Filipe Camaño Garcia at [email protected].
