Documentary Screening: “Mukuru is the Name”

Mtree’s mission is to foster “artful change” by transforming marginalized communities through arts and design. Since 2011, we have served more than 2,000 children and youth, introducing artful engagements through our education and community development programs.

We believe in the power of art to enrich and change lives. To this end, we are excited to invite you to an exclusive screening of our documentary, “Mukuru is the Name,” at the Film at Lincoln Center during the UN General Assembly. This documentary highlights our Fashion Design and Global Citizenship Education (GCED) program launched in Kenya’s Mukuru settlement in collaboration with the Kenya National Commission for UNESCO, showcasing how art and design can be catalysts for positive change.
