Centering lived experience in the NCD response

This flash talk, hosted by Devex in partnership with Beyond Type 1, will spotlight the story of Ankur Mukherjee, a youth advocate from Varanasi, India. At 17, an unusual warning sign — an ant trail near his family’s washroom — led to his diagnosis of type 1 diabetes. With little guidance, high medical costs, and limited public understanding, he navigated the condition alone. Today, as a Beyond Type 1 Ambassador and leader with The Diabesties Foundation, he reaches thousands across India with lifesaving education, dismantling stigma and ensuring no one faces diabetes alone.
