AEF/ACGER High Level Policy Dialogue at the 78th UN General Assembly
Africa’s debt burden has grown so huge (estimated at about 726.55 billion US dollars as of 2021), that, realistically there is little chance for significant economic and social advancement on the continent unless effective measures are urgently pet in place to address them.
As put forward by Africa, the current problem of external indebtedness is a major outcome of the economic distress and social retrogression that has plagued the continent in the current decade, which has continued with severity.
The severity of the situation has made it urgent that sustained measures need to be taken to stimulate economic growth can help to address the formidable problems linked to the current indebtedness confronting Africa.
This high-level policy dialogue aims to contribute to the continuing dialogue on the issue, to move us significantly closer to solving this hydra-headed monster confronting Africa.
