Leaders across the technology industry, media, and foreign policy community as well as young innovators will gather on 21 September for the Apps 4 Digital Peace Competition Virtual Awards Ceremony to explore ways to promote digital peace globally.

The Apps 4 Digital Peace Competition is a joint initiative by the Cybersecurity Tech Accord, the UN Office of Disarmament Affairs (UNODA), and the UN Office of the Envoy on YouthThe objective of the competition, launched in January and open to young innovators between 16 and 32 years old, has been to stimulate original thinking about ways to promote an open, secure, stable, and accessible online environment amidst raising tensions between states in cyberspace.

At the ceremony, finalists will present their ideas on new technology solutions that could help address existing and potential cyber threats, ensure respect for international law in cyberspace and promote adherence to voluntary cyber norms, among others. A distinguished panel of judges will announce the top three winners which will be rewarded with cash prizes and networking opportunities to help get their ideas off the ground.
