The upcoming Global Town Hall, co-hosted by the Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia (FPCI) and Global Citizen, is a pioneering platform that unites a global consortium of civil society organizations, think tanks, and universities for a marathon online discussion spanning 15 hours.

Themed “This is Our World Too: A North-South-East-West Dialogue of Civil Societies,” the event aims to facilitate an inclusive and comprehensive conversation on pressing global challenges. With 12 sessions of 60 to 75 minutes each, the event transcends time zones, fostering dialogue that resonates around the world.

This event holds particular significance for addressing climate change. Amid escalating climate crises, this Global Town Hall becomes a space of coordination, cross-border knowledge and resource-sharing, and a discussion space for best practices essential for formulating comprehensive climate change policies.

Moreover, its partnership with Global Citizen, an organization renowned for leveraging collective action, amplifies the potential for policy changes and funding decisions that address the root causes of climate change and extreme poverty.

CGIAR’s Participation at the Global Town Hall 2023 

CGIAR Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation Impact Area Platform Director, Aditi Mukherji, will speak  on the panel “Everybody’s Business,” which will be held from 12:45pm to 1:45pm (Jakarta time). The panel will revolve around food security, bringing important insight to the area of food systems sustainability and security, especially focusing on the gaps in our current global food systems, accounting for key stakeholders.
