Citizen Sustainability Summit
The Consulate General of Denmark in New York and partners are hosting the Citizen Sustainability Summit on September 19-21 at the Chelsea Market Passage on the High Line in New York, during the 77th Session of the UN General Assembly and Climate Week NYC.
The Summit presents 14 sessions, four VR experiences, and artistic performances – all revolving around the complex questions the climate crisis holds: How can we build greener, energy-effective, more inclusive, circular cities? How can our common quality of living, consuming and eating improve without taxing the environment and our natural resources?
What is the scope of the individual’s responsibilities compared to those of the society?
The Summit is conceptually framed by world renowned Danish artist and designer Henrik Vibskov, who with an installation of flowerlike paper objects “The Jungle of Ears and Tongues” engages participants to listen and engage in dialogues about sustainability, livability and inclusivity.
The summit activities – debates, exhibitions, and performances – will be open, free of charge, and accessible to all participants.
HRH Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark will be in attendance alongside local and global government representatives and CEOs.
We strive to ensure:
Democratic conversations & informal interactions to bridge the gap between decision-makers and citizens.
Diversity in representation.
Responsible procurement and consumption in event production.
Cross-sectoral representation in program sessions.
Innovative & interactive program formats to engage & inspire.
Let’s work together for a more sustainable, livable & inclusive tomorrow!
