The Government of Antioquia declared a state of Climate Emergency in February 2020, with the aim of drawing up a roadmap for the adaptation and mitigation of climate change through actions that allow the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, thanks to the strategic collaboration with the public, private, solidarity, academic and community sectors. In line with the above and given the importance of making climate change scenarios visible in the department, the consequences on the health of the population and the effects on the regional economy, the Government of Antioquia, headed by the Secretariat of Environment and Sustainability, will hold the International Climate Emergency Convention – Antioquia 2022 on September 21 and 22 in the Great Hall of Plaza Mayor Medellín.
The Convención Internacional de Emergencia Climática – Antioquia 2022, will have as components a plenary session that will have an international vision, context of the national strategy and articulation with the departmental commitment to climate change, in addition to climate dialogues in which progress will be evidenced of the sector.
