Faith in Her: FFOP Global South Women’s Conference
Faith For Our Planet is convening a conference in New York City in September 2023, on the sidelines of the UNGA proceedings, as key conversations on the future of our world take place. The conference will bring together representatives from Faith-Based Organizations (FBOs), along with a high-profile panel of speakers, to present the case for enhancing the role of women of faith – particularly Global South and Black, Indigenous, and Women of Color – in climate leadership, the existing systemic barriers to participation, and how and why they must be overcome.
As part of FFOP’s commitment to Sustainable Development Goal 5 (Gender Equality), the conference will culminate in our Declaration of Inclusivity which will contain a series of recommendations, curated in consultation with our coalition of women leaders and experts, to enhance participation and representation of women of faith in COP delegations and decision-making.
