In today’s rapidly evolving global landscape, the digital economy has become a driving force for global growth, innovation, and sustainable development. However, significant portions of the world’s population, particularly those in underserved and under-resourced communities, still lack access to the benefits of the digital economy. One of the underlying factors contributing to the unemployment and underemployment crisis, particularly among the youth, is the lack of access to digital education and a robust technology ecosystem.

Tech4Dev and its partners contribute to solving the under-skilled and unemployment problems in Africa through free technology training, advocacy, job readiness programs, and job matching. To address the digital education gap and challenge of accessing livelihood opportunities in Africa and beyond, Tech4Dev provides free technology training that equips underserved demographics with the necessary digital skills for employment and entrepreneurship. These efforts are supported by partners like American Tower Corporation and Microsoft in alignment with Sustainable Development Goal 4, quality education.

This panel session has been curated to provide an exposé and highlight innovative solutions, approaches, policies, and initiatives that have successfully expanded digital access and fostered digital inclusion, taking into account African contexts.

This event brings together high-level government officials from African countries that have implemented successful digital inclusion initiatives, representatives from international organizations working on digital access and inclusion, executives from the technology industry who can provide insights into innovative solutions, academics and experts with research and practical experience in digital inclusion, civil society organizations engaged in grassroots efforts to bridge the digital divide, individuals from underserved communities who have directly benefited from Tech4Dev’s digital inclusion initiatives, to explore the potential of digital technologies in driving Africa’s economic growth. Don’t miss this opportunity to gain insights, network, and be part of the conversation shaping Africa’s future.
