Hospitals Beyond Health Care
The Organizational Ethics consortia series provides a forum for local, national, and international discussion of bioethical dilemmas that arise at the organizational level in hospitals, ACOs, health plans, and articulates processes for responding to them.
Hospitals and other health organizations face myriad opportunities to advance their ethical and social commitments, including through activities that fall outside the bounds of their traditional role of caring for the sick. Such activities range from choosing whom to accept funding from to participating in initiatives to combat social determinants of health inequity. Join us for a conversation about how hospitals and health organizations can reason through their commitments and responsibilities as ethical actors in the social realm.
Further details on selected examples and discussants will be provided prior to the consortium event.
