Jurisdictional Collective Action Stories: Fighting Global Climate Change through Jurisdictional Sustainability
Addressing the pressing climate issues requires collective actions. Exacerbated implications through intensifying heat, forest fire, floods, landslides, and economic downturns and threats humans cannot avoid. Then, how can we build sustainable endeavours in the jurisdictions to mitigate and adapt to potential future climate threats lurking?
COP 26 at Glasgow marks the beginning of the Decade of Delivery commitment for Net-Zero Actions. Leading governments and private sectors pledge to commit, and financial sectors mobilize funding toward emerging economies to support commitment delivery through climate mitigation and adaptation measurements.
The Jurisdictional Approach in Southeast Asia demonstrated collective actions with government leadership towards climate agenda and national development goals attainment. Through Siak Investment Outlook and Siak local regulation 2022 of Green Siak, Siak District of Riau shows sustainable commitment is progressing, and ten best practices business cases are underway, encompassing forest conservation, community empowerment, and certification. Equally, business sectors from multi-commodities sectors demonstrate transformation not only from their NDPE policy but reached beyond through integrated supply chain schemes, government partnership, financing, and community inclusion, multi-stakeholder partnership. This effort to ensure green growth vision at the jurisdictional scale is attained to enable jurisdictions to transition toward sustainable jurisdictions.
