Add to Calendar September 25, 2022 3:00 pm September 25, 2022 5:30 pm America/New_York Natural Dye: Colors of the Earth

Our favorite pigments and colors are often inspired and found in naturally occurring spaces. The organic material that surrounds us is inherently responsible for the colors and fabrics we adorn ourselves in!

In this workshop we will be playing with different natural pigments made with local herbs & earth material as a way of connecting with our local landscape. We will be exploring the history of natural pigments with an emphasis on how they were used in art making historically. Participants will have the option of creating vibrant, personal 4” x 4” plant dyed fabric on silk/cotton or on items of a similar size they bring to class. Brooklyn Grange tote bags will also be available to dye when purchased at checkout! ALL AGES WELCOME!
