In our workshop we will share our perspective on current global climate issues, and how taking action in New York contributes to making progress in the climate crisis overall. There have been many successes of the climate movement in New York. We will talk about the successes and how inspiring they are.

Sustaining All Life/United to End Racism strives to provide resource to the movement. Presenters will talk about and demonstrate how some simple tools can help those already engaged in the climate movement to keep going strong. And, how being effective listeners to others not yet involved can help us keep building the movement.

Our workshop will be interactive and you will have a chance to share your experiences with other participants. You will learn about and practice listening exchanges that can help defeat personal burnout and discouragement as well as help others realize that what they do makes a difference. Being truly listened to without judgment, correction, or advice is one of the most powerful ways of clearing our minds of thoughts that discourage us, or keep us thinking our actions don’t matter.
