Partnering with Government, Industry, and Finance to Accelerate the Development of Carbon Capture and Storage
Analysis from both the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and the International Energy Agency (IEA) indicate that CCS will play a critical role in global decarbonization. The power and partnership of both Industry and Finance sectors are needed to accelerate the growth of CCS and reach global climate goals. This side event will include panel discussions on both the role of carbon capture in hard-to-abate industry sectors, and on the role that finance-sector organizations can play in accelerating CCS/CCUS. The event brings together senior leaders from government, hard-to-abate sectors, and labor unions, as well as commercial and development banks in order to build stronger bridges between crucial partners and to identify key issues and solutions to accelerate CCUS, as the world strives to transition to net-zero.
