The modern world relies heavily on petrochemicals. However, the use of petrochemical derived products comes at a significant environmental cost. Anticipated growing use of petchems derived from virgin fossil fuel feedstocks is incompatible with sustaining healthy ecosystems around the globe.
By mapping the flow of petchems through the economy we can begin to understand how best different industries can reduce the negative impacts caused by their use of petchems, highlighting the points of leverage where investors, regulators and civil society can best drive change.
