The Systems Innovation Learning Partnership’s (SILP) Experimentation Fund brings together organisations and people tackling complex development challenges to collaborate, experiment, learn, and share ideas that help to activate innovation both locally and across systems. Through learning by doing, and in community, we aim to grow the capabilities and capacities needed to address the world’s most pressing systemic issues.

We invite a wider community of funders, development practitioners, and systems innovators to reflect on the journey so far, share your own insights on challenging traditional funding practices, and find inspiration.

The event will cover three stages of the iterative journey to co-design the Systems Innovation Experimentation Fund:

  • The Design: a call for proposals that supports collaboration and prioritises the ‘applicant journey’;
  • The Selection: a (power) distributive assessment and portfolio selection process;
  • The Implementation: cohort development that leverages peer-learning, sharing and capability building.

You will get the opportunity to engage inexperience the story of developing the fund from four angles:

  • The Development Team: Will Wade – Climate-KIC
  • The Community Grant Makers: Namrata Mehta – UN Habitat
  • The Grantee Perspective: Antonia Amaranta Brock – Power Compost
  • Human Learning Systems Coach: Toby Lowe – Centre for Public Impact

Don’t miss this introspective cocktail & workshop event – limited seats are available, so register now.

More about the Fund: The Systems Innovation Learning Partnership’s (SILP) Experimentation Fund was built following a design logic informed by the Centre For Public Impact’s Human Learning Systems and rapid prototyping. The design and roll-out happened simultaneously and in a highly participatory manner, in a method the team has called Community Grant Making.

The cohort of seven grantees are now supported in a year-long experimenting, learning, and sensemaking process, with the dual aim of learning from their collective experiences of experimenting with approaches to systems change as a portfolio, as well as their own separate and contextually specific implementations.
