Rewrite the Future is an urgent call to action to invest in girls’ education for a more just and sustainable future. Through stories, performance, films, photography and engaging conversations, Rewrite the Future illuminates the power of girls’ education to address the most pressing challenges of our time. With climate change, conflict, COVID19, and other crises disproportionately impacting girls and creating new barriers to education, this timely event brings together extraordinary leaders who are creating solutions and unlocking the power of girls’ education.
Leaders from Girl Rising’s partner 1 Million Teachers and Nigerian non-profit organization North East Children’s Trust (NECT), an initiative led by the Vice President of Nigeria, His Excellency Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, will share stories of how they are empowering teachers to transform education for girls in Nigeria, especially in areas of conflict where educators are often risking their lives to ensure girls continue to learn. Girl Rising’s Future Rising Fellows will premiere new media and storytelling projects that vividly demonstrate the power of girls’ education as a solution to climate change.
