As the world population continues to grow, much more effort and innovation will be urgently needed to sustainably increase agricultural production, make global supply chains more resilient, decrease food losses and waste, and ensure that all who are suffering from hunger and malnutrition have access to nutritious food.

This situation calls for significant growth of harvest results and collaborative action from across the ecosystem including government-, private sector- and research institutions and digital solutions can play a vital role. SAP, the purpose-driven market leader in enterprise application software, and Vista, a leading provider of digital solutions for sustainable management of the water-energy-food nexus have teamed up to rise to this challenge.

Based on existing installations and examples you will learn how independent and accurate, objective and current, highly detailed information on crop production, food security and overall agricultural activity can be provided with the help of digitalization. This is on different levels of granularity – from the entire country down to the individual farm – and along the entire value chain. With this, the solution provides data and insights to enable agricultural planning and risk assessment, ensuring food security and agricultural export management.

The following distinguished speakers and panelists will share and discuss with the audience their perspective and insight:
• Ralf Bredel, Director and Representative to UN Headquarters, United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO)
• Niels Schulz, Industrial Development Officer, Agro-Innovation and Bioeconomy Department, United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO)
• Tobias Fausch, CIO, BayWa AG
• Heike Bach, CEO, Vista Geowissenschaftliche Fernerkundung GmbH
• Anja Strothkaemper, Global Vice President Agribusiness and Commodity Management, SAP SE

The event will be followed by an optional networking reception and SAP Innovation Center Tour.

To reserve one of the limited seats, please send an email to [email protected] with the participants name and e-mail address by September 5th, 2023.

SAP and VISTA are looking very much forward to welcoming you at Hudson Yards.
