The roadmap for decarbonizing cities
In cooperation with Danfoss
The launch of the “Roadmap for Decarbonizing Cities” whitepaper sets the stage for a dynamic panel discussion examining the challenges and opportunities in decarbonizing urban environments.
Cities are energy and carbon emissions centers, contributing to two-thirds of global energy consumption and 70% of carbon emissions annually. This session will highlight innovative strategies, identify challenges, and recommend actionable policy to contribute to the critical mission of combating climate change through more resilient, sustainable cities.
The session will delve into key aspects of urban decarbonization, such as optimizing urban planning to integrate sustainability into infrastructure, energy management practices to minimize carbon footprints, and energy-efficient building designs to reduce emissions. Alongside more commonly known culprits, strategies to reduce emissions in overlooked sources of urban carbon footprints, such as wastewater facilities, supermarkets, and data centers will be discussed.
The panel will culminate in actionable policy recommendations derived from the whitepaper that can expedite the deployment of decarbonization technologies and practices in urban areas, followed by an interactive Q&A session.
