AI in Healthcare: Why Regulation Needs a Global Lens

This high-level roundtable on AI in Healthcare: Why Regulation Needs a Global Lens, will take place on Monday 22 September at 5:00 PM at Serafina Madison, New York, in the margins of the 80th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA)

Artificial Intelligence is revolutionizing healthcare – improving diagnostics, accelerating drug development, and expanding access across resource-limited settings. Yet the high-stakes nature of healthcare demands a regulatory approach that is context-aware, globally informed, and rooted in patient safety and trust. This invitation-only session will convene 10-15 senior stakeholders from government, industry, international institutions, and civil society across Latin America, Africa, Southeast Asia, the U.S., and Europe. Together, we will explore how regulatory frameworks can both safeguard patients and unlock health innovation globally.

The discussion will be held under the Chatham House Rule to encourage open and candid dialogue. The two-hour roundtable will be followed by a networking dinner.
