Annual Meeting of the Friends of the UN Inter-Agency Task Force on the Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases and Mental Health: “Legislative, fiscal and regulatory action to deliver the non-communicable diseases and mental health-related Sustainable Development Goal targets”
The annual meeting theme is scaling up legislative, fiscal and regulatory measures to support Member
States deliver the NCD- and mental health-related Sustainable Development Goal targets. In particular,
it will discuss ways and means to further enhance support of the Task Force to Member States,
including through the Health4Life Fund.
The meeting will also launch a set of tools to catalase country-level fiscal policies to prevent and
control NCDs and present plans for a new G7 and G20 health legislators’ initiative network ahead of
the 2025 UN high-level meeting on the prevention and control of NCDs.
The meeting will comprise of two parts. The first part is a moderated panel discussion followed by an
interactive question and answer session and a short presentation will be given by the Task Force
Secretariat. The second will be the 2024 UNIATF/WHO Award ceremony.
