Article 109 Town Hall: Join for a Conversation on how to update the UN Charter
Article 109 is a new international coalition mobilising to renew the UN Charter. Why? Because multilateralism is in decline, the world is hurtling from crisis to crisis, and, as the UN Charter was written eight decades ago, it no longer reflects the world’s realities. Just take climate: in its current form, the UN Charter fails to mention the “environment” and as it was written in 1945, it does not reference environmental catastrophe at all. This is just one topic we need to address through a renewed UN Charter.
We are holding a Town Hall on Wednesday 24 September from 3:00 – 4:30 PM in New York and online for our existing members and those who wish to join our coalition. This interactive event is the chance to meet some members of the new team, hear about our latest developments, reflect on our work to-date, and exchange ideas on the future of our Coalition.
The in-person event will take place at the Baha’i International Community, 866 UN Plaza, New York. The online details will be sent to those who RSVP.
RSVP is required to attend before Monday 22 September.
