Barefoot In The Park: Network Your Socks Off with Busara

An informal get together with coffee, bagels, and good conversations about the future of development and human behavior

Busara (www.busara.global) is one of the foremost Global South research institutes using behavioral science to help solve the big challenges of humanity. But we are also community builders, seeking to change the ecosystem of knowledge creation and how that knowledge is used. We cannot do any of this alone: we need a community to help us pursue our goal of understanding how we can better support human behavior for a world that is equitable and peaceful, healthy, seeks to learn, and lives within the planetary constraints. There is a lot of work still to be done.

This work can feel lonely, but humans work best when they talk, exchange ideas and get to know each other. So what better way to start the morning during #unga2025 than by doing just that, while relaxing in the park with a cup of coffee?

Come and join communal and informal conversations with Busara’s CEO Francis Meyo (fan of the barefoot sandal) about what Global South leadership for the challenges of human behavior might look like. Because the work is not done.

Busara, headquartered in Kenya, and working across the Global South, is deliberately embracing the uncertainty of this moment while remaining committed to imagining a better future. What will our coming together produce? How can we do the best to continue to pursue the work we believe is necessary to achieve a fairer, better, sustainable world for all? Let us find out together.
