Bridging the Gap Between Equity & Electrification
Celebrate Climate Week with BE-Ex’s Women in Sustainability & Energy (WISE) series! Join us for an important and timely moderated panel discussion where women leaders from different sectors of the climate industry will delve into the crucial intersection of equitable electrification and environmental justice (EJ). To set the stage for our conversation, the event will begin with presentations on the historical context and legacies of EJ issues in communities across New York City, and an overview of the Environmental Justice NYC (EJNYC) initiative from the Mayor’s Office of Climate & Environmental Justice that guides the City’s efforts to advance environmental justice in New York City.
In a subsequent moderated panel discussion, attendees will gain valuable insights into the benefits and challenges of electrification, key considerations for ensuring a just, clean energy transition both now and into the future, plus tools and initiatives that aim to address environmental burdens on marginalized communities. The panel discussion will conclude with an audience Q&A, followed by a networking session with refreshments—including wine and small bites. See you there!
