Catalyzing Progress: Realizing Political Commitments on SCD and NCDs

The high-level dialogue on Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) brings together important leaders from governments, multilateral and development organizations, private sector organizations, clinical research facilities, academic and policy institutes, NGOs, and patient advocacy groups. The program will provide a unique opportunity to prioritize SCD within the broader non-communicable disease agenda and catalyze stronger political commitments. The discussions will focus on sustainable care models, nationwide newborn screening, and ensuring access to proven and affordable treatments—including hydroxyurea, penicillin, essential vaccines, and curative therapies.
