Climate Intelligence for Healthier Cities: A practical Conversation for City Leaders, Health Officials and Global Funders

Cities are increasingly experiencing climate and health as one connected challenge. Rising heat, poor air quality, flooding and emissions are not only environmental concerns; they are directly shaping the health outcomes that city leaders and health officials are working to improve.

Yet in many cities, climate risk and health risk are still measured, planned for and financed separately. This makes it difficult to see where environmental pressures are affecting communities most, which interventions should be prioritised, and how investments can deliver both climate and health impact.

This UNGA81 session will explore how climate intelligence can help close that gap. Through the Geovitas Climate Intelligence for Transition and Impact platform, known as CITI, the session will show how continuous environmental monitoring can give cities the evidence they need to make more informed, timely and practical decisions.

Using the Chandigarh deployment as a working example, the conversation will highlight how live climate data can support urban health planning and strengthen policy action. It will also introduce the partnership between Geovitas and Fast-Track Health, bringing together a city health governance framework and a live measurement layer that can be adopted by cities without rebuilding existing systems.

Designed for city leaders, health officials and global funders, the session will focus on how climate-health measurement can move from insight to action, from pilot to city-scale implementation, and from separate agendas to a shared pathway for healthier, more resilient urban communities.
