DIVE

A Celebration of The Ratification of The High Seas Treaty

About the Show

Fresh off of London’s West End, from executive producers Kathy Eldon, Eva Haller and six time Tony Winner Una Jackman, critically-accalimed music artist, actress, songwriter, diver and ocean activist, EM The Master, brings her eclectic show to The Green Room 42, in partnership with the High Seas Alliance.

A blend of hilarious characterisation, storytelling, original songs and reimagined classics, DIVE focuses on the wonders of the ocean, as Em quirkily personifies the creatures she’s had the pleasure of interacting with. A multi-roling extravaganza, the show celebrates the ocean’s marvels, explores the challenges it faces, and questions how we can harness our individual power to give back to this essential ecosystem. Quirky, humorous, powerful, and full of heart… much like the sea.

Brought to you in partnership with the High Seas Alliance, a coalition of over 70+ NGOs and other partners, that played a leading role in securing the adoption of the High Seas Treaty (BBNJ Agreement) in March 2023, and continues to work towards the ratification of the Treaty. This landmark Agreement is the first international treaty to enable the protection of biodiversity on the High Seas–nearly half the planet’s surface and two-thirds of the ocean.

We are now on the cusp of a historic breakthrough: the Treaty is about to cross the threshold of 60 ratifications, the number needed for it to enter into force. This will be a once-in-history moment for the ocean. DIVE will mark and celebrate this unprecedented milestone, blending art, comedy, science, and activism to inspire audiences and amplify this victory for our shared planet. To mark the occasion, the High Seas Alliance will also be hosting esteemed guests at the performance, making this not only a powerful artistic event but also a unique gathering of leaders and advocates celebrating this milestone together. Alongside the performance, Rebecca Hubbard, director of High Seas Alliance and an expert on the Treaty will share insights on what this achievement means for the future of ocean conservation.
