From New York to Nairobi: A Global Call to Action for Pan-African Dialogue

This interactive UNGA80 Virtual Side Event — “From New York to Nairobi: A Global Call to Action for Pan-African Dialogue” — brings together voices from Africa and her Diaspora to share ideas and best practices from education to sustainable workforce solutions and beyond. Through generative dialogue, we will explore how stronger connections with each other can help:
- Build meaningful Africa–Diaspora partnerships, especially in research, education, and industry
-
Continue to strengthen HBCU collaboration within and across continents
-
Encourage innovation and entrepreneurship in our rapidly evolving global society
-
Shape education systems for sustainable futures, including youth leadership in this process
The conversation will provide space to share perspectives, exchange experiences, and co-create ideas for how Pan-African collaboration can transform education and open new opportunities for young people and communities across the globe. Using Africa Voices Dialogue’s (AVD) practice of generative dialogue during this Side Event builds momentum toward ongoing AVD virtual sessions and our major in-person conference in Nairobi, Kenya (EADiS 2026 www.eadis.africa).
