Green Technologies for Sustainable Growth: The Future Prospects
The issue of balancing economic growth, population and environment is not new concern. Growing fast and furious has already hit hard the environment. The environmental degradation is now visible through rising global temperatures, uneven & uncertain rainfalls, unpredictable weather, landslides, melting glaciers, rising sea levels, and many more. The world is now looking at the solutions to the damages already made for secure and sustainable future growth. The world has started moving towards green technologies for production, travel and power. In this context, the session will focus on the future prospects of green technologies for different countries of the world. The issue is at what pace these technologies are developing and is being adopted by different countries of the world, mainly for the countries of the Global South? More specifically, Will green technologies provide the ‘latecomer’ advantage to the countries of global South for future growth prospects? These issues are important to draw inferences about the future global growth perspective.
