Harnessing the Power of Youth to Create a Malaria-Free Future
Join us at the Summit of the Future (UNGA 79) for an Intergenerational Discussion on Malaria during Action Day One on September 20th at the Millennium Hilton, under the theme: #YouthLead for the Future. This high-level conversation, titled Harnessing the Power of Youth to Create a Malaria-Free Future, will explore how youth innovation and research can be leveraged to eliminate malaria by 2030.
In this unique roundtable discussion, youth innovators from diverse sectors will engage with key decision-makers, including Ambassadors from high malaria-burden countries, to tackle the urgent challenges malaria poses, such as biological threats, funding gaps, climate change, and conflict.
As we approach the Global Fund Replenishment, this conversation is critical to ensuring that malaria remains high on the global agenda while inspiring increased investments in lifesaving interventions. With Africa experiencing 94% of global malaria deaths, it is crucial to bridge the funding gap—currently at $1.5 billion for essential interventions—and take bold steps toward a malaria-free future.
