It’s time to unleash nature positive, climate positive bioeconomy solutions
Panel 1: Nature The need for greater emphasis on nature conservation and restoration has risen alongside the goal of net zero greenhouse gas emissions as an international priority. This panel will look at the framework of measurement, reporting, public policy and business actions needed to become nature positive. Specific examples from the global forestry sector will consider how nature conservation can be embedded in the management of landscapes incorporating both conservation and production systems at scale.
Panel 2: The Natural Capital Asset Class The concept of a new Natural Capital asset class incorporating sustainable agriculture and forestry as well as climate solutions and the conservation and restoration of nature is increasingly being embraced by investors. However, what does this new asset class look like, and how does it perform as part of a diversified portfolio? Investment managers from forestry and agriculture consider how this new asset class is being perceived, the investible universe and the challenges of building a track record that will attract capital at the scale needed to support a transition to sustainable land use.
