Methodologies and Strategies for Sustainable Mental Health: A Holistic Mind-Body Approach with Quantitative and Qualitative Studies
Mental health is a critical component of overall well-being (SDG3), yet it is often overlooked or neglected. The United Nations General Assembly Science Summit provides a unique opportunity to address this issue on a global scale. We propose a series of talks and panels focused on various aspects of sustainable mental health, inviting participants and experts to share their thoughts. Methodologies: We will touch upon the importance of holistic mind-body therapies such as meditation & yoga and discuss how to leverage the latest in AI technologies to help people with mental health at scale. We will share research evidence from gene expression and mental health studies done at NHU under the auspices of The Supreme Pontiff of Hinduism (SPH) Bhagavan Nithyananda Paramashivam. Approaches: We invite neuroscience experts to discuss the latest neuroscientific studies on consciousness that present a new way to tackle mental health problems at scale. People: We discuss the importance of focusing on specific demographics such as women and children. Specifically we discuss the importance of educating children & youth early about mental health rather than waiting till it is too late. We also discuss the challenges women face and how we can address them at a global scale.
