Q-Lab: Agentic AI and Youth Digital Wellbeing
“Defining the Questions that Matter”
Q-Lab is a studio-based methodology developed by The GovLab as part of its program on a new science of questions, which treats the framing of questions as a discipline in its own right rather than a preface to research.
Exploring how agentic AI shapes the digital wellbeing of young people and identifying the critical questions we should be attempting to answer.
AI systems no longer simply respond to what young people ask of them. They are becoming agentic; acting, remembering, adapting, and initiating. That shift opens one of the most consequential research frontiers of the decade: how these systems shape the way young people learn, relate, and develop a sense of themselves.
Convened by The GovLab and Sync by Ithra during UNGA high-level week, this invitation-only, 90-minute Q-Lab (workshop) will bring together policymakers, regulators, researchers, technologists, civil society leaders, and young people representatives to define and prioritize the research questions whose answers would most improve policy and practice on AI and digital well-being.
The session will run under the Chatham House Rule, and the resulting agenda will be published.
