Reducing the Stroke Burden: Translating the WHA Resolution into Action
We are pleased to host a multi-stakeholder roundtable during the United Nations General Assembly to discuss the landmark stroke resolution, “Reducing the burden of stroke: strengthening prevention, acute care, rehabilitation and health-system readiness”, and the opportunities to support its implementation and accountability in member states. This resolution marks a historic milestone: for the first time, Member States are considering a comprehensive mandate to reduce the burden of stroke across prevention, acute care, rehabilitation and health-system readiness. Participants will showcase country case studies and the investment case for stroke, build awareness on advocacy campaigns and the role of stroke survivors and caregivers, and highlight the role of collaboration in driving access to evidence-based, cost-effective interventions and stroke plan adoption.
