The geopolitical landscape is shifting beneath our feet – with new and emerging conflicts, increasing infectious disease outbreaks, climate shocks, new technology, trade tensions, and dramatic tightening of financing changing what has been the established world order. As we confront this new and dynamic environment, we must refocus political leadership and attention from inward looking policies and investments, toward the globally-focussed, interconnected priorities truly needed to drive stability in our complex risk landscape.

Hosted by rani, The Elders, and The Independent Panel for Pandemic Preparedness and Response, our high-level event on the sidelines of UNGA81 seeks to explore how to both redouble commitments to international partnerships and think differently about how to invest for our shared resilience and stability. The discussion will focus on near-term opportunities to refocus attention and financing for the interconnected threats of our time, including through advancing new partnerships that cut across traditional silos of health, biosecurity, climate, and national security to build societal resilience to future threats in societies across the world.
