Strengthening health system cardiovascular disease capacity: Investing in health technologies to improve outcomes for patients and society, with stroke care as leading example
This event will convene Health Ministries, global health experts from the public, private and multilateral sectors, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), and other key stakeholders to address the burden of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) and highlight the revolutionary example of stroke care as an opportunity for major healthcare improvements while managing financial sustainability. With game-changing technological innovations such as in stroke care, it is essential to ensure such technologies are embraced and embedded in health systems around the world, to ensure better care for more people and support UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Target 3.4. The event will highlight the economic productivity and long-term value for money for society to invest in improving access to diagnostic and minimally invasive treatment for CVDs and stroke. The event will align with the World Health Assembly’s resolution on strengthening diagnostic capacity (WHA76.5) and set the scene for the UN High-level Meeting on the Prevention and Control of NCDs in 2025.
