Sustaining Action for Women and Girls

Women’s rights sit at a crossroads on the road to the 81st U.N. General Assembly. Against the backdrop of shrinking gender-related development funding, renewed debate over the structure and future of the U.N.’s gender equality and reproductive health mandates, and rising geopolitical instability, the future of multilateral action for women and girls faces renewed uncertainty. As the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals deadline approaches, governments, philanthropy, and the private sector are under mounting pressure to address persistent gaps in financing, representation, and access to essential services.

Her Power @ UNGA81 will bring together leaders from governments, international organizations, philanthropy, civil society, and the private sector for high-level discussions on the challenges shaping the next phase of the global gender agenda. Building on conversations from FP’s Her Power series, the forum will explore how to advance gender equality amid political and economic headwinds, strengthen investments in women’s health, confront digital violence, and ensure women have a meaningful role in shaping global security, prosperity, and development.
