The Future of the Amazon: Launch of the SPA Youth Advisory Committee
Join the Science Panel for the Amazon (SPA) as it launches its inaugural Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) during the UN Summit of the Future! This 60-minute event, titled “The Future of the Amazon: Launch of the SPA Youth Advisory Committee” will convene the Committee for the first time, bringing together diverse young scientists and leaders who will amplify the voices and experiences of young people and leverage their expertise, energy, and ideas to promote the conservation of the Amazon and the SPA’s scientific and policy-relevant recommendations.
The event will introduce the Members of the Youth Advisory Committee emphasizing the critical role of youth in global sustainability and conservation efforts. The launch event will be followed by a 1 hour long reception, that will provide a valuable opportunity for networking and further discussion among young leaders, scientists, policymakers, and representatives from partner organizations. It will be an ideal setting to continue conversations sparked during the event, explore potential collaborations, and celebrate the launch of the SPA Youth Advisory Committee.
