Panel 1– Business Ambition for 1.5˚C: Taking place within the greater context of the UN Secretary-General’s Climate Action Summit, the event will emphasize action by participants, particularly the importance of more ambitious private sector climate targets aligned with limiting global temperature rise and reaching net-zero emissions no later than 2050. This event will showcase the importance and success of the 1.5˚C Our Only Future Campaign, featuring interventions from leading companies in the climate space and early signers of the campaign. Launched by the United Nations Global Compact, Science-Based Target initiative (SBTi) and We Mean Business, the campaign hopes to create a tipping point in collective climate action by getting companies to commit to setting 1.5˚C climate targets aligned with a net-zero future, through the Science-Based Targets initiative.
Panel 2 – CEO Report: Future Forecast: Published every three years, the UN Global Compact CEO Study it is the largest study of CEO attitudes to sustainability globally. In collaboration with Accenture, the Study traces the development of corporate motivations in engaging with environmental, social and governance issues in core business and evolving trends on the SDGs. Learn how these shifts in global thinking can impact how you see sustainability in an ever changing landscape.
