A Regional Perspective on the Refugee Crisis
Round table organized by ISFD and OIC on the margins of UNGA 2023.
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development (ISFD) invite you to attend a morning of discussion and presentations covering “A Regional Perspective on the Refugee Crisis” at McDermott Will & Emery’s New York office on Thursday 21 September.
This event will be organized on the margins of the United Nations General Assembly’s high-level week.
The objectives of the session are to raise awareness about the recent global trends and challenges facing Forcibly Displaced People (Internally Displaced Persons and Refugees), describe the GIFR, and highlight its focused sectors and its expected outcomes in terms of improving Forcibly Displaced People’s living conditions.
The briefing session will be followed by a networking lunch with the added opportunity for one-to-one meetings with the GIFR Team for those who would like further information.
The GIFR is an innovative, sustainable, Sharia-compliant funding tool, which aims to enhance the international community’s humanitarian response to forced displacement and to provide new funding channels to assist millions in need.
