The FP Energy Forum at UNGA 78 will convene energy experts, government officials, and private-sector leaders to examine the balance among environmental responsibility, energy security, social equity, and economic prosperity in the transition to a sustainable energy future. Financial, policy, and regulatory frameworks are key to accelerating the energy transition, with key initiatives such as the United States Inflation Reduction Act, the European Green Deal, and the Bridgetown Initiative shaping the discourse and driving investment. Amid growing energy security and climate concerns, the race to secure energy resources, ensure energy access, and decarbonize are creating complex challenges for policymakers, investors, and civil society. Deepening partnerships across sectors and stakeholders will be essential to ensuring a sustainable, inclusive, and just energy transition. Against this backdrop, Foreign Policy will host a series of discussions alongside the UN General Assembly on how to strengthen energy security and the innovative mechanisms and partnerships that are needed to accelerate a just energy transition.
