This roundtable directly focuses on the policy makers from subnational governments, disaster risk reduction specialists, representatives from NGOs and businesses who play a crucial role in climate resilient planning, policy making and climate data management. We will enable them to understand the holistic nature of climate resilience, and how these different areas of resilience are interconnected to ensure inclusivity; encourage them to use data for policies and interventions; and co-create ideas to help shape solutions at all levels.

In 2021, the Lloyds Register Foundation conducted the second edition of their World Risk Poll – a unique global study to understand people’s perceptions and experiences of risks to their personal safety, including severe weather, climate change and vulnerabilities in disaster resilience – the biggest risk faced by people and communities globally.

This series involves government officials from national, state and city level governments, NGOs, disaster risk reduction specialists, aid workers, businesses, researchers, and community representatives with an aim to orient them to the Poll results and findings, and to help co-design and deliver robust climate resilient systems at individual, household, community, and societal levels.
