Add to Calendar September 18, 2023 8:00 am September 18, 2023 6:00 pm America/New_York New Approaches to Tobacco Control Conference 2023

The New Approaches conference investigates how policy innovation and technological innovation can complement each other in preventing 8 million tobacco-related deaths annually, and up to 1 billion tobacco-related deaths this century.

The 2023 healthcare conference evaluates progress achieved from policy frameworks such as the Framework Convention of Tobacco Control (FCTC) at its 20th anniversary. Can policy innovation overcome stagnation and accelerate an end to smoking in the years to come? The current state of progress in ending smoking in the USA and other countries will be presented.

Investments in innovation and sustainability can help meet the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in particular SDG (3) on health, SDG (6) on clean water, SDG (12) on responsible consumption, SDG (13) on climate change. The conference will investigate how medicinally licensed Electronic Nicotine Delivery Systems (ENDS), pharmaceutical Nicotine Replacement Therapies (NRTs), modern consumer nicotine, and tobacco-free nicotine solutions can work synergistically to improve the lives of millions and accelerate efforts to end smoking.

By integrating global perspectives from research, public governance, private industry, innovation, finance, and new voices this conference considers tobacco harm reduction as an integral part of tobacco control and a policy option to improve human health and a sustainable future.
